Going to Disneyland? Top 5 Things You Must Bring With You!

in #life7 years ago (edited)

This past August, I bought a year pass to visit Disney California, I am a kid at heart and love that place. I finally went on my second trip there with my pass and here are the top 5 things I learned are essential to your trip to Disneyland California.

#1 Backpack

I learned very quickly that bringing a backpack to Disneyland is one of the most essential things you must bring with you when you visit the park. Why? Carrying a purse becomes inconvenient and if you are a bit like me, I don’t really like carrying purses or clutches…. Not because I am not a lady, but because if my head was not attached to my neck, I would leave that behind as well. I am constantly leaving my phone, wallet or purse behind. No Joke, I broke my phone when I got to Disney for leaving it on the roof of my car, if I wouldn’t have seen it say bye on my rear view mirror, I wouldn’t have had a clue what happened to my phone. I’ll tell you guys that story another time.

#2 Water/Drinks

If you have never been to Disney, you will quickly realize starting with those delicious churros, everything is overpriced inside the parks. Granted, they need to make profits out of their merchandise, but c’mon Disney! I am a sucker for their $4.75 Churros, yep, four dollars and seventy-five cents. I make sure to tell them to make me a fresh one on the spot. Sooo…. save some money by freezing some sports drinks or water and pack a couple in your backpack at your initial visit. When you are empty, just go to your car and refill your bag and go back into the park.

#3 Portable Chargers

I can’t stress it enough, running low on battery while being at Disney can be devastating. We all love staying connected on social media while enjoying our visit to “The Most Expensive Food Happiest Place On Earth“. Bring a really good portable charger to refill your battery after taking all those awesome selfies with the characters or while gramming or snapping Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. They don’t have outlets just waiting for you to bring your plug and get a charge.

#4 Comfortable Shoes

Yes you should already know this, but for the ladies… as a woman I know you want to look super cute in your pictures with Mickey or Minnie, but wear comfortable shoes at least, you will be walking a minimum of 5 Miles on your visit. Check the weather and make sure to bring a sweater, it gets chilly at night and last thing you want is to be forced to buy a $40 sweater and end up purchasing the $80 one because its “cute”.

#5 Entertainment

You will be waiting in long lines and there is only so much you can talk about. I suppose you are attending the park with a companion, if so then these entertainment tips will work for you. I enjoy playing Heads Up, so I downloaded a Heads Up Application that also allows me to make my own deck. I make a Disney inspired deck and play while waiting in lines. You will find it so fun and time will fly by and you might make some friends, everyone loves playing Heads Up, don’t be shocked when others around ask if they can join your game.

I love a nice massage to get the blood flowing and de-stressing the body and mind. I always pack a scalp massager or a back rollie thing, we have all seen these and enjoy them very much. Take turns using them on each other.

Enjoy Disney, stay entertained and save money!
