A photo of Emmanuel Macron's hand on the buttocks of the Croatian President makes the #buzz

This photo of #Emmanuel #Macron a hand on the buttocks of the #Croatian #president is false.
A photo, shared almost 50,000 times on #Facebook in less than 24 hours, shows Emmanuel Macron a hand on the buttocks of the Croatian president in the final of the World Cup. It is actually a photomontage.

"Oh damn, he'll have problems ..", "it deserves 1 red card", ironically the authors of publications showing Emmanuel Macron and Croatian President #Kolinda #Grabar-Kitarovic arm in arm, the left hand of the French president asked on the left buttock of his counterpart.

But this image is false: a simple reverse search on the internet (*) shows that the original photograph was taken by a Reuters photographer, Damir Sagolj, on July 15, during the World Cup final between France and Croatia.

If the two heads of state - present in the presidential platform in the company of Russian President Vladimir Putin - appear well arm in arm on the original photo, the left hand of Emmanuel Macron is however placed on the left shoulder blade of Ms. Grabar-Kitarovic, not on her posterior.

The photomontage had already been posted on Facebook by the Italian parody page Bufala News.

"France-Croatia, the diplomatic relations between the two countries look good despite the rivalry on the ground", ironically Bufala News July 17.
