Imagined Crest Of House Vyshaan

in #life6 years ago

My D&D group has just started a new campaign with new characters. I took some time this weekend to design the crest of House Vyshaan, the family crest for my newest D&D character.

It's been a while since I had the drive to design something just for fun so I thought I would share it with you.

The Vyshaan family in our game is an old moon elf family from Cormanthor. They now reside in Silverymoon after the elf kingdom of Cormanthor has fallen. They no longer retain their title but the elves have long memories so they still keep the name and crest.

The family gained fame in the battles leading up to the fall several centuries ago. The crest is a stylized tree over a moon with 3 stars above and 1 below. Each star represents an elf noble saved by the family patriarch of the time.

At the bottom, there is a phrase in Elvish (Sindarin created with this tool). The phrase is roughly translated to "Long live family Vyshaan, protectors of tree under moon".

I used a large plethora of images to create this crest. I mean no right infringement to any of the artists who created the bits and pieces uesed. I have no intention of having any commercial use to this design - it was done purely for fun.

I hope to be able to report soon that the contract I'm waiting for has arrived. We'll see if it'll happen this year or the next (later than two days).

Happy new year to everyone and С Новым годом to all who celebrate it.

I love it when people put that much work and thought in our hobby. What a beautiful crest!

And, of course, I bookmarked the Sindarin translator ;)

Thank you. Creating characters is somewhat of a hobby :) Feel free to look at my blog - I've created quite a few unique characters. In case you're looking for a NPC or a new character for yourself I'll be happy to help.

That's GORGEOUS!!! Sorry I missed the voting period on this post, but my dust vote isn't much anyway. So glad I came to see what you've been up to, though. This crest is beautiful. Love the Sinderin, but especially love the tree and moon as you have them. Nice work! :)

Thank you so much <3
