Uuuber sad news!

Uber Macau is saying goodbye and I do hope this is a temporary stop.

Below is the notice they sent to people using uber.

In Macau, it's very tough to get a taxi if you're not in the casino or hotel area. Having Uber operating in Macau made our lives easier. Uber has been working on getting approval but after months of battles, to no avail, it was still disapproved.

Taxis in Macau are all docked in hotels and casinos. If lucky enough, you can get a taxi outside these areas but the drivers tend to bring you around just to make sure the meter goes on so they can earn more. If you're a tourist, you'll especially experience this.

Taxi industry is monopoly. There's a lack of competition.

That's why Macau needs Uber so that taxis can become more competitive by giving locals as well as tourists better service.
