The weather is really hot, cases of wild fire here and there, someone said the gate of Hell was not properly closed last time it was used, lol, its actually horrible and I have literally no idea what is going on. Ofcourseif you check wikipedia and other sources, there's a scientific explanation for this as there is for almost everything on earth. But they never really seem to hit the nail on the head, but the thing is these climatic occurrences bring with them so many kinds of ailments and sicknesses, because the human body is not used to or cannot fight against these sudden extreme changes.

Some of the ailments to look out for in this period of heat wave are;

  • Heat edema: Which presents as a swelling of the hands, feet, and ankles. It occurs when there is abnormal secretion of excess liquid is stored in abrupt parts of the body. It has no treatment as it is usually leaves when the human body has adjusted to the environmental temperature.

  • Heat rash, which is known as prickly heat, is a type of rash accompanied by acute inflammation and blocked sweat ducts. It can appear on any part of the skin, especially areas with tight clothing on.The extreme case can lead to dermatitis. The symptoms are usually associated with itching which may be treated with topical or systemic antihistamines.

  • Heat cramps are painful, often severe, involuntary spasms of the large muscle groups used in strenuous exercise. This is common for those people who often involve in heavy exercise while sweating profusely. I know this is unavoidable for some people, however, the advice for everyone is to stay hydrated regularly, and especially for people who find themselves in this category, electrolytes is your friend.

  • Heat syncope is fainting or dizziness as a result of overheating. It is a type of heat illness. This is characterized by uneasy blood flow to the heart as a result of dehydration as a result of continuous profuse sweating, also the quickest remedy to this is cooling and re-hydration.

  • Heat exhaustion is identified by excessive dehydration and electrolyte depletion. Symptoms may include diarrhea, headache, nausea and vomiting, dizziness, tachycardia, malaise, and myalgia.

When the weather is too cold, its a problem. When its too hot, another problem. Too much of anything is bad, just bad. I remember last year September, October was so cold, I happen to live in a very bushy area so the cold is almost always triple.

There is so little we can do to change the weather, but there is something we can do for ourselves at least to help ourselves stand a better chance of surviving these extreme cases of climatic conditions. I also think being informed will also go a long way in helping people prepare themselves and loved ones for these conditions so as to enable them take necessary precautions for their own safety.

Life as a selenophile

If I were a werewolf, I would have howled about three consecutive times right now. This moon is amazing, how does it even carry so much light within it like that.

I love the moon, if I were a mutant, it will definitely have something to do with the moon, if it were a fiction, I will definitely be a werewolf, not because I like them specially or anything, but I like that they are strong and super sensitive at least most of the time, then ofcourse some movies overhype their abilities.

Some of my friends even say my beards are shaped like wolverines. Cool right? lol.

I might be wrong though, but what I'm sure about is that my powers will not have anything to do with flying, I hate heights, cant even try it, I don't even like to jump.

Surely it wont have anything to do with swimming as well, water without boundaries creep me out, really creep me out.

Did you know that those who have a strong affinity for or love of the moon are called Selenophiles? Yes they are and I found that out recently,

Moreso, there are a ton of other Phil es, apparently Phil es in Greek means love for or love of. Some people are Ceraunophiles? They love thunder and lightening! Seriously we humans are very weird species, jeeez. Will you like to share what Phile you are?
