DOES THE GOD OF ALL CREATION HAVE HIS FAVORITE?
Have you ever thought about it?
Did it ever cross your mind?
Is it really possible that God has his favorite creation?
Well, in any case, only one Person is qualified to answer it: God Himself. So we might as well come to Him and find out His very wonderful answer.
...
In the beginning of the Bible, it says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth". So we can say that God is a creating God.
But shortly after the first verse, Genesis 1:2 says, "But the earth became waste and emptiness, and darkness was on the surface of the deep ...". Having a first glance at it, we may think that God created the heavens and the earth void and empty. But, can you think of a creator, even a human inventor, who would create something that is void, empty, and waste? None, right? Because people with sound mind would only create something that will be of use either to him or to other people. So, now, if we try to closely look at it again, we will realize that the verb used was became. Meaning, between verse 1 and verse 2, something must have happened which made the earth void and empty. (But this is not what I want to share with you by now. Maybe we can try to delve into it in my succeeding posts. This is just an introduction to precede the restoration of the earth, which would eventually reveal to us the answer to that big question stated above.)
...
After the first 2 verses in Genesis, God's restoration of the earth immediately took place. It only took Him six (6) days restore all the inhabited earth. Now, we will already proceed to the continuation of God's creation.
On the first day, God spoke that there would be light; and there was light. He saw that light was good so He separated light from darkness. He called the light, Day; and He called the darkness, Night.
But after creating Day and Night, it seems that God was not yet satisfied, so He continued on His creation.
On the second day, He spoke that there would be an expanse, an area, in the midst of the waters to separate the waters above and the waters below. And He called the expanse, Heaven.
But, again, after creating Heaven, it seems that God was still not yet satisfied, so He further continued on His creation.
On the third day, God spoke that the waters below may be gathered together so that the dry ground may appear. Then He called the dry ground, Earth; and the gathering together of the waters, Seas. And God saw that it was good. Then God continued to speak that there would sprout from the earth grass, seed-yielding herbs, and fruit-bearing trees according to their kind. Once more, God saw that it was good.
But, again, after creating Earth, Seas, and all grass, seed-yielding herbs, and fruit-bearing trees, it seems that God was still not yet satisfied, so He further continued on His creation.
On the fourth day, God spoke that there be light-bearers to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years. God made two great light-bearers, the greater light-bearer to rule the day and the lesser light-bearer to rule the night; and the stars. And God saw that it was good.
But, again, after creating the two light-bearers and the stars, it seems that God was still not yet satisfied, so He further continued on His creation.
On the fifth day, God spoke that there would be swarms of living animals in the waters and birds flying above the earth. God further spoke that every living animal in the waters fills the seas and every winged bird multiplies on the earth. And God saw that it was good.
But, again, after creating every living animal in the waters and every bird flying above and on the earth, it seems that God was still not yet satisfied, so He further continued on His creation.
On the sixth day, God spoke that there would be animals on the earth, cattle, and every creeping thing that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
Again, after creating animals on the earth, cattle, and every creeping thing, it seems that God was still not yet satisfied, so He further continued on His creation.
But this time, God did not only speak; He did something very personal and much more special. He formed a being with the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; thus, making him living soul. Yes, you're right. That being He personally and especially made was...
Genesis 1:26-27 says, "And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of heaven and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. And God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."
And God saw everything that He had made, and indeed, it was very good.
After creating man on the sixth day, God had finally rested on the seventh day. God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it He rested from all His work. Only after creating man, not any other beautiful creation, did God become satisfied.
So to answer the question, "Does the God of all creation have His favorite?", yes, it's MAN. It's YOU.
You are God's favorite creation. :)
Praise the Lord! :)
