From Death to Life
Shards of pieces of the hurt,
drove me further in the dirt,
trying to find a reason to go on,
as I stared into a winter sun.
An amber-grey sky bled pouring rain,
even as her mark left its stain,
Wanting to escape from all the pain,
and crawl into the ground where I had lain.
Nothing but dead wishes lying beneath my skin,
forever lost, or so I thought, feeling agony within.
My mind ablaze with splinters and fire,
Images forever tormenting me of their desire.
Driving me further towards the edge,
between eternity and the now.
Someone in the heavens noticed me on the ledge,
heard my cries but I know not how.
A healing journey along a path of grace,
carried me across time to a convecting place
where desires are spoken and moments move by at record pace,
forging fantastical memories that cannot be erased.
There is where you first came into view,
there is where my mind and heart you slew,
You stamped me with an imprint of fascination,
amid a disillusioned city filled with broken hearts and frustration.
Across the sands of time we danced,
words and syllables masquerade romance.
I saw you standing there when the time was right
You plucked me like a cherry that was ripe,
A glimpse of allurement was in my sight,
and it wasn't long till you took a bite.
So delicious was the flavor of the juices that were borne,
each swallow sweeter than the one before.
Infatuation, desire, appetite, love and craze
became a catalyst of affection, devotion and worship over the days.
Surrendering to longings pent up over the years,
fulfilling aspirations and intentions while breaking my fears.
Vaulting far above expectations,
replenishing my foundations with strong palpitations.
Flesh upon my flesh, and bone to mine
where once was a broken chain of circles intertwined,
flowers began to bloom from a dead woman's dream
and you breathed a breath of life into me as passion and love began to teem.
Time quickly moved, though many moments were eternal,
the depths of our waters were breached like the opening of a secluded journal.
Inflamed with passion for our worlds and each other,
building brick by brick, one upon the other.
Patience and tenderness were the mortar of our construct,
holding each stone in place as love flowed through the duct.
The pace of growth kept steady, at times the muscles flexed,
and in the moment I pen these thoughts, to you I'll be perpetually vexed.
Amazing work 👌💞
