Children and domestic violence!
Do you know that children are not exempted from the impact of domestic violence? We all respond to good and bad situations differently, children who have witnessed domestic violence respond negatively to domestic violence and it shows in their attitude towards life when compared to other children.
Research has shown that children who have witnessed domestic violence;
1)have low self esteem and are socially withdrawn
2)are more aggressive
3)are more anxious
4)tend to be self destructive and sucidal
5)do not do well in their academics or even drop out.
6)become sexually active at very tender age
7)exhibit high level of drug abuse and drug addition.
8)exhibit high level of juvenile deliquency
9)are driven into bullying others for self-gratification
10)become early prey to sexual and domestic abuse!(especially the female folks).
This does not in anyway imply that all the children who have witnessed domestic violence go through all the issues mentioned above, but they have a greater chance of experiencing them.
The effect of domestic violence on child witness is frightening,it is therefore necessary for couples to resolve to a dialogue to resolve their issues at all times and deeply consider the consequence of their actions and decisions before taking them.
Our children are the next generation,lets say no to domestic violence and emabrace dialogue for the safety of our next generation!

The effect domestic violence has on children is worse than the effect of divorce.
Whats more disturbing is the fact that not all incidents of child violence is reported. As innocent as they, why would any body engage them violently. To think its happening almost everyday.

as a way of proffering lasting solution to this menace, there is need for resensitization, enlightenment and educative programmes as it relates to domestic violence to parents and wards, couples and the youths at large. Nicely written
Children are the worst victims of domestic violence. Violence and abuse of all forms should be rejected vehemently. Well done dear
