Freeing Ourselves From Ourselves :: Letting Go

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Have you ever thought that there is the slightest possibility that we are the ones holding ourselves back?

Over time, we have heightened our sensitivity to fear...causing us to think of the negative outcome in situations...thus blaming that thought/excuse with the reason we can't do something.

What if...just what if...we thought of how much fun or positive the outcome would be? Life presents us with adventures and challenges everyday. How many of these do we pass up because of negative thinking?

" L e t I t G o "

Kids act up...let it go // Things don't go as expected....LET IT GO // Someone or something rubs me the wrong way....let it go // Car breaks down....why get upset, there is no rewind button, nothing to do but fix it—accept the challenge and deal with it....cause it's not going away...LET IT GO.

Should've // Would've // Could've :: These 3 words..." I should've done this."—"I could've done that."—I would've BUT.."

If you really had the intention to do whatever it was....it would be done and you wouldn't be mumbling any of those 3 words. There is ALWAYS a but following close behind. BUT is plainly an EXCUSE to PLACE BLAME.... [lazy?]

Attention to Intention :: If you intend to do something—do it. Finding excuses and putting it off doesn't result in it being done. DO IT...and don't stress about it later. Why place blame? Was the blame really what was stopping you from doing what was intended?

Is the glass half full or empty :: HALF = 50%....every thought has a positive or negative outcome. YOU have the choice...there isn't a higher chance of either of them happening.

Why do we hold ourselves back? Once we learn to let go...we'll fly higher than we ever imagined.

Sort:

The first step is always the hardest... taking action is one of the hardest things to do in life, when we as humans and as animals are conditioned to stay in the Status Quo.

When life was hard and we had to compete with saber tooth tigers and more, humans depended on the instinct to do what works and not try anything else to survive.

Nowadays that instinct is counter-productive and we need change more than anything.

Nice post!

The human race is evolving fueled on convenience

The drive for survival is the need to be lazy

I love this post! You're absolutely right. And fear is something I've battled with for a long time. I'm trying to change that now, but looking back, there is so much I wish I've done a little bit different. How are you doing with overcoming fear?

My motto is “life is an adventure :: you just have to live it”

Everyday is hard...I’ve been breathing and meditating a lot...that really helps

When I have fear it’s cause I’m in my head...thinking and over analyzing. I gotta say. It does feel good to not think and do

Whatever helps! Best wishes :)
