A woman is sitting under the shade of a chocolate tree. I noticed that she was making a roof sheet made of nipah leaves. Nipah leaf roof that is kind of similar like coconut tree is considered cheap at a price of 2500 rupiah per piece for the roof sheet. She could made 30 piece of nipah roof per day. The advantage by using this roof, the circulation of the air in the room is quite cool compared to using a roof made of aluminum roof.

Let's see how the process is made. Firstly, the leaf from the nipah plant is cut to the appropriate length, then weaved and tied tightly using a rope from a thin slice of rattan from end to end. And the leaves are joined one by one until everything is covered. Then become a roof sheet that can protect the occupants from the heat of the sun and from the cool rain. The average nipah roof can last for the longest for a year. And must be replaced with a new one.

What about you, have you ever see the roof like this near your area? Let me know by leaving a comment below here :D

This is quite amazing to see! Where I live it gets freezing cold and our roofs are very well insulated to keep the warmth from our heaters in! Great photos! Tip!

Wow thank you @melinda010100 much appreciate for the tip :D Yes! this nipah roof maybe doesnt fit your freezing weather and i think thats much better with your well insulated roof, however in tropical place like here in sumatra, this roof is pretty good :) Kind Regards from Sumatra!

Hi @janton howdy! Lol. Yes its around 17.000 islands here and mostly people who have boats are fisherman that lives near the sea. But transportation like ferry, ships, rent boats are available for public. So yes i can see my friends on the next door island by that
