Men also Cry – A Friend's Experience
I have a friend who was told on the phone late at night that his mother just died, after hanging up he lay down on his bed and stared at the ceiling, so many things were going through his head at the same time, what was he to do? Where was he to start? Who was he to talk to? He lost his father not too long ago and he was still feeling the impact of the absence of the father.
The next day he rose up from his bad as he usually does, took his bath, dressed and went to work. All alone he did not for ones think about any other thing but the loss of his mother. Life can play a fast one on you at times, it was just of resent that he told his mother that he would buy her a special present for Christmas but now all that is gone. He got to his final bus stop and crossed from one side of the road to the other without looking both ways and without using the pedestrian bridge nearby.
Immediately, he was accosted by law enforcement officials, and that brought him back to his senses. He looked at them in shock and asked them what he was doing here, they were a bit confused but then told him that he crossed from one side of the road to the other without using the pedestrian bridge. He couldn’t remember how he got out of bed, took his bath, got dressed, left the house and paid for transport.
While he was trying to tell the law enforcement officials what happened to him, he started crying profusely and uncontrollable. That was when it really dawned on him that he had lost his mother for good. He cried, cried and cried, passersby stopped to see what was happening, everybody took pity on him and they tried as much as they could to console him. At the end of the day, the law enforcement guys volunteered 2 men that were mandated to take him to his office. They had to do this so that they’ll be sure he got to his office safely.
The office staffers were surprised to see him with law enforcement officials, the officials spoke with manager and told them to keep an eye on him, he could hear them saying all that but just couldn’t speak out. After the officials left, the manager started talking to him in a bid to make him have courage and be a man. Immediate he wanted to tell the manager that he was ok, tears started rolling down his eyes uncontrollable again and he started crying like a baby again.
You may think you’re a strong man because you don’t cry, but life has a way of showing you you’re not that strong. It will twist and turn you emotionally till you breakdown and cry, you won’t even feel the shame of what people around you will say at that point, all you want to do is let the emotions out and cry. It is not a crime for a man to cry, crying is not meant for women alone.

yes, crying is not limited to women. men also cry and should cry when they are emotional. I think crying is a way of releasing your emotion or tension out. If we all can live without crying that is wonderful. Thanks for sharing!!
You are very correct my friend.

Funny, I was just thinking, I had a full day today, I laughed, yelled, cried, and laughed again. We are human, man and women, we are very sensitive to our environment, we are a part of it. Great post, and keep on going!
