Hi Steem pals!

As you know, I've been on a sabbatical since the middle of last year. I started the trip with @minimemories - my partner in crime. We decided to start with the tropical #paradise that is #Palawan in the #Philippines having read and seen so much about the lagoons, wreck dives and activities related to the majestic islands that make up the archipelago.

#Coron - An easier destination to see compared with El Nido, the area, by way of activities, is dominated by Coron Island. The photo below shows an aerial shot from my drone showing the largest lake on Coron Island, Kayangan Lake. It is known as the cleanest lake in Asia and as a result, was not part of any tours that were available from the island. But never fear, Barracuda Lake and its brothers and sisters have much to offer, the limestone formations within them are an eerie throwback to ancient times.

The Southern Tip of Coron Island, it looks so much like a copperhead snake...nature again proving to be the most serendipitous and awe inspiring artist. #serendipity

El Nido, unlike Coron, is much more spread out so far as attractions go, where we were able to navigate our own adventures if we liked, in Coron, El Nido required the services of a boat and captain. This didnt make the scenery any less magnificent though!

We ended our Palawan adventure without the hustle and bustle. At a private island resort. #Matinloc Resort on Matinloc Island.

Stole a kiss at sunset :).

Nestled on the El Nido side of Matinloc Island, it is the only resort and possibly only modern structure on the whole island. It has a limited number of villas and suites and is up there with the most spectacular places that I have ever spent a few nights. The only way on and off the island was by the shuttle speed boat organised by the resort, but with views like this, who would want to leave?

You know a place is nice when it has a helipad. Maybe next time!

This is the more...normal way to get around in the Philippines! A tricycle made of spare parts of cars. Essentially, a 125cc bike with the front of a car and a cage welded onto it. How this passed safety laws...oh wait, when in Asia, just accept that some things may be done differently!

Till next time! @minimemories and I thank you and hope you enjoyed the post!
