Hello everyone, hope you're doing great!

A few months ago I was sitting in front of my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) with no idea on what to do or how to start, and I remembered some paper I read somewhere that stated something like:

"Nothing we create is entirely original, everything we conceive is a collection of past experiences and things that have been picked by our subconscious; it could be a sound in nature, an event we witnessed, something someone told us or a sign we saw on the street."

Based on this belief I managed to break my artist block, as I started thinking about what past experiences or things I've seen can be of inspiration to me? And it hit me!

A few years ago, back in highschool, I would go to the beach every afternoon with my friends and surf until it was dark, witnessing the sunset as I rode the crystal clear waves of the caribbean sea, in Margarita Island, Venezuela.

Here are some photos I've gathered from the internet!

Starting with a sunny day like this:

To a melancholic sky like this:

All this beatiful scenery and memories flooded me with ideas and content, a "vibe" that I wanted the listener to feel. I want the listener to picture what I see when I think back to those happy days where all that mattered was how many waves I managed to ride that day.

Without further a due, here are the two songs I made with the inspiration this scenery from my childhood gave me:

Lay Down

Inspired on the early mornings and afternoons where I got ready to go to the beach and the way back home, after a great surfing session, walking through the coast under the purple tinted sky, tired, but happy and satisfied, eager for the next day to come and get back into the water!

In The Weekend

Inspired on those saturday mornings where I had no other responsibilities other than waking up early enough to catch the best waves - and since no one else had woken up yet, my friends and I would have the entire beach to ourselves!
