SOME COUNTRIES BLOCKING SOCIAL MEDIA "TUMBLR"

           Since March 05, 2018 the "tumblr" social media site has been blocked due to numerous public complaints regarding pornographic content on the service. After a search and content analysis, the head of the Public Relations Bureau of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Noor Iza Said "that there are more than 360 pornographic content in Tumblr".

           The Indonesian Government's move to block Tumblr has not only attracted the attention of the local sphere, but has expanded all over the world. Various foreign media from several countries, highlighting the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) policy confirming that it has blocked Tumblr. Indonesian news blocking Tumblr has crossed into the land of Great Britain, the media Independent. In addition, there are Latin American Herald Tribune, Rappler, to Bangkok Post.

           Many citizens who regretted the blocking of social media tumbir. Because they become tumbir as a means to learn writing. However, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) is still opening the door for Tumblr if it wants to open blocking in Indonesia. In relation to the opportunity Tumblr can be accessed again by the community, Director General of Informatics Applications (Ministry of Communications) Ministry of Communications and Informatics Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan provided the requirement "that for the opening of the block, they must clear pornographic content in Tumblr."

Here are three countries that also block social media tumbir:

1. China.
   Just like Indonesia, China also blocked Tumblr because of ponorgrafi and censorship problems. The Chinese government seeks to remove content that contains pornography due to a video that had viral on a number of domestic platforms - and even spread to external sites such as Tumblr and Youtube. In 2011, China blocked Tumblr for several weeks in February and March. The reason is, activist actions issued a call for pro-democracy demonstrations on social media platforms.

2. Pakistan.
   In January 2016, the Pakistan's government blocked more than 400,000 offensive sites, including social media sites that were removed for no apparent reason. Though no sites have pornographic content. Either because of the basis of what many sites in Pakistan are blocked by the government that displays a message containing "Surf safely! This site can not be accessed.

3. Kazakhstan.
   Kazakhstan's Minister of Communications and Informatics has blocked the Tumblr site because it contains 60 sites of terrorism, extremism and pornography.
