"Even in the familiar there can be surprise and wonder."
Last Monday I decided to do my morning walk in Tagaytay City. The city is just an hour away from my hometown and 38.3 kilometers away from my apartment. I’ve been passing through this place for years, but the view of the Taal Volcano perfectly placed in the middle of the lake never fails to mesmerize me. I am still in awe. This explains the many pictures of Tagaytay I keep on my phone.
I rode a bus from my apartment going to Tagaytay with very little expectation. After an hour or so I got off the bus and started walking. I walked for a good one hour and 30 minutes.
This is how Taal Lake looks like.
A perfect place to take a walk, run or ride a bike.
The Praying Hands of Tagaytay.
This reminded me to utter one of my silent prayers.
St. Michael
I eventually got tired of walking. I decided to pass by Taal Vista Hotel and I found this on their wall.
The view from the hotel.
My legs were soooo tired from walking though my feet seemed relax.
Tierney Gearon was the one who said that even in the familiar there can be surprise and wonder. Let me add that having a grateful heart will help us see that life is a gift. There is so much to be grateful for. All we need to do is to quiet our soul and perhaps take a walk, enjoy what comes our way and make the familiar unfamiliar.
