Life Changing....
There won't be many words in this post because I'm too overwhelmed to even write something, but like always, the first place I come to share my excitement or achievements is this platform, my family, Steemit. Today, I believe I may have experienced a moment that will change my life forever. I’m trying not to give myself too much credit, but this truly feels like a significant milestone, a life achievement that I want to cherish and remember.
So, what did I do? I gave an elderly person back his ability to speak. He can now talk, smile, eat, and chew again—essentially, he can live his life fully. For me, this is not just about completing a dental procedure; it's about restoring someone’s quality of life. It’s moments like these that make all the challenges, long hours, and dedication worth it. I can’t take all the credit; it’s all because of God. I feel so deeply happy and content at this moment that it’s hard to put my emotions into words. This is one of those rare moments when you realize the profound impact of your work, and I am immensely grateful.
I know, I know to many people out there, especially my fellow dentists, this might seem like just another routine day at work. But for me, it was far from routine. It was a journey of patience, persistence and compassion. It was special. This elderly man had been visiting me regularly for months, never once complaining, despite the numerous appointments and the long treatment period. He trusted the process, trusted me, and was so patient throughout
Today, we finally completed his treatment. I saw him smile, a genuine, heartfelt smile, one that lit up his entire face. It’s a simple thing for most of us, but for him, it meant everything. It’s these small yet significant victories that remind me why I chose this profession in the first place. I’m incredibly happy, not because of what I did, but because of what it means for him. A new life, a chance to live fully once again.
While I was inserting the denture in his mouth he seemed really tense but once I was done with my work, all he said was:
بےٹا اللہ تمحے ھمیشا خش رکھے
May God Always keep you happy son.
This sure seems like a victory to me. I feel proud beyond words.
You have a satisfying job! Experiencing the trust of your patients and seeing the results of your work: wonderful. It's probably not just a profession, but your vocation...
