Do you value yourself?

in #life8 years ago

How many people truly value themselves and can honestly say that you know exactly what you were put on this earth to do?

I came across this earlier today, which really got me thinking..

Although it states a more feminine perspective, I believe that this can easily be swayed through everyone. In a world that is constantly telling you from the very beginning that publicly or privately loving yourself is wrong, it is important that we learn to love ourselves regardless of societal 'values'.

Another interesting topic I came across today was featured on Lewis Mocker's snapchat. He began by talking about confidence or lack of. He suggested that every individual has every single type of emotion and trait. So you may feel you are lacking in confidence throughout your life. But this is simply not true.

He gave the example of 2 people, a football fanatic and a computer lover, in school when it came to PE the footballer excelled highly, he was extremely confident and everyone knew it. Whilst this was going on, the computer guy felt a strong sense of no confidence and felt most likely overwhelmed. However, as soon as computing / ICT rolled around, low and behold the computer guy was the confident one, with all the answers and the footballer- not so much!

I'm not saying that if you're one you can't be the other, what I am saying is everyone is everything. If you feel like you lack in social situations but excel in baking- great do more baking! Build up your confidence there and see how much better you feel after it all.

This can be applied to every single situation and often when looking at job possibilities or maybe becoming your own boss to find you own way in life, you may look at all things you're not so good at or confident in. BUT, the idea doesn't lay where the confidence lacks, it relies on the areas you are confident in!

So go find what you feel most confident doing/being/at/whatever!! And go rule the world!!

You do not owe anyone anything, but you do owe yourself the world.

Hope you've had a nice week, let me know what you think of this idea below:-)
