5 Best Vegan Documentaries

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Veganism is growing day by day, intact with the plant-based revolution numerous documentaries are conveying truths about the positive effects we can make on the world by only changing our eating habits.

Here's a list of five adverse documentaries that have the potential to touch the vegan part of your heart, the rational intelligence of your mind and open your perspective to new revelations.

5 Vegan Documentaries That Can Change your world

1. Cowspiracy: A movie that covers the detrimental effects of the non-sustainable practice of farming million of animals. An eye-opener for the rational mind.

2. Forks over knives: This great movie covers the health benefits of a vegan diet, did you know people have reversed chronical disease with the help of a plant-based diet?

3. What the health: This is my personal favorite, as it goes more in-depth to the root-causes of our health declining society.

4. Food inc: Shows you the inhumane handling of other sentient beings and the adverse effects it has on the planet.

5.  Earthlings: This one is for you that want to see more graphically what happens to the animals. It's hard to acknowledge this immense suffering, but it is what creates that emotional connection, empathy, and the driving force for change.

If you don't have the time to watch a whole movie, please take a look at this great man and his reason for being silent for 365 days.

Get inspired by his action and determination - challenge yourself to watch at least one of the mentioned movies within the next days.

Have you seen any vegan documentaries before? What's your favorite?

Watching Earthlings is what tipped me over the edge to make the decision to go vegetarian. 6 months later I watched What The health and decided to go Vegan. I went to a local vegfest and the speakers and facts there really drove it home not only for the health of it but also for the animals why i chose to be and stay vegan. Earthlings was so haunting I just couldn’t get it out of my head for the next week, and even if I tried to eat meat after I just couldn’t. That movie both broke my heart and changed my life. Definitely a perfect list to post! I can’t imagine what kind of person could make it through all these movies and still commit to eating meat and animal products.

Would be super interesting to do a study on that, let random people see 5 vegan movies and then look at their eating habits in the aftermath

I agree, that would be extremely interesting. Not a bad idea, but not sure how to go about finding people willing to participate 🤔

Great great shares! Havent watch all of them, but maybe I will one day!;)

My voting power have grown. I vote and your post go up by 1 cent. I’m looking forward to see the new one coming produced by James Cameron. The Game Changer will be a film of tipping point. Something revolutionary is about to happen. Most men believe meat eating is the man hood thing and muscle building nesesscity. No body can do a better job of using film to tell a story than James Cameron. We are going to see vegan streets, vegan town and vegan cities popping up everywhere on our planet! We all going to live to see this amazing transformation. Meat eating will become the smoking of today.

I started converting after watching cowspiracy. Stopped eating red meat and dairy. The rest followed very soon after. Very eye opening if you’re ready to have your eyes open of course :) Not brave enough to watch earthlings as I was crying after watching the trailer only. I kind of think I’m am off the list of people who have to watch it now as a vegan :p good list - would recommend too :)

"Forks over knives" is my favorite one :)
Have you seen "Food Choices"? http://www.foodchoicesmovie.com/

I can't remember seeing that one, how did you find it?

I don't remember :) But it's really worth watching. Is one of the newest about veganism.

Thank you for sharing thos movies. Haven't seen all of the but the one I watched definitly helped me on my vegan journey :) Have you watched the movie the end of meat?

No, is that a recent one? have you seen it?

I think it is relativly recent (http://www.theendofmeat.com/) I only watched the trailer so far.

Watching "Cowspiracy" right now ;)

PS: I tried to watch "Earthlings" at least twice, but always ended up crying like crazy! I could never fully watch this movie, but went vegetarian in 2010 and am now on a vegan diet ;)
