RE: French Language is so Beautiful

in #life5 years ago (edited)

Saraclickbait? My major disadvantage in learning French was that I spoke fluent Spanish, and both languages have so much similarities that it is so easy to let one language cause confusion for the other. For example, what I have noticed is that in Spanish, you have a way of addressing either one person or more than one person in the familiar form. (That is, "tú" and "vosotros" or "vosotras.") In French, you can only address one person directly in the familiar form by using the word "tu." If you're addressing more than one person, you have to address them as "vous," which is the formal. Of course, when you're speaking Spanish in Latin America, people always address more than one person in the formal form as "Ustedes." Every language seems to have its fair share of peculiarities. Anyhow, . . . bonne chance avec votre français. :-)
