Dealing with Death - Alan Watts, Jason Silva

“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time” – Mark Twain

The problem of death causes great anxiety for our species; people are frightened that after we die there will be nothing. However, this simply cannot be true.

Why?

Nothingness is not an experience that can be had, try to imagine nothingness, it’s impossible because you are still imagining something. Nothingness is not a concept. In order to have nothing, you must have somethingso you understand what nothing is, this is the ying yang of the universe, so wherever there is nothing, there is something. The fact that we are alive shows that we have something, therefore if there was something once there can be something again, so the fact that we are alive is the biggest blessing of all!

Look at it this way, we can all agree that wood is hard. But what is hard? Wood is only hard in relation to soft skin, by being alive we evoke hardness out of wood, in the same way by having eyes we evoke light out of the universe.

We are alive in the present moment, worrying about death or what happens after death does nothing but steal the joy from now. We are natures game of self awareness, we are consciousness having a human experience piloting this flesh vehicle.

If this sounds depressing to you, it shouldn’t!

There’s no God in the sky judging your every move, you are beautiful and you are powerful, you literally are the universe, you are God itself! We are divine creators with unlimited potential, so if you are struggling to see the meaning of life, understand this:

THE MEANING OF LIFE IS TO GIVE LIFE A MEANING
