In this 21st Century, when the modes of human communication is at its best, where humans can have a Two-Way communication with Electronic Devices like "Alexa", any common man can speak to Celebrities via Twitter, a person sitting 3000 miles away can talk to his family via a Video call, there exits one strange ritual in this remote village of Himalayas using which Kaushalya Devi tells her neighbors if she is Alive or Dead.

Kaushalya Devi, an 87 year old widow who lives alone in the village of Jaladi village, 20km from Shahpur town in Kangra located in the lower reaches of the great Himalayas in India. She was left alone to live in her crumbling house, lost her husband about 8 years ago and her only son left her 3 years ago.

Once Kaushalya Devi fell ill and was unable to even reach out to her nearest neighbors. It was by chance the neighbors found her lying on her bed when one of them dropped by her house.

Since then, Kaushalya Devi uses a plain A4 size white paper folded in rectangular shape to stick on her wall as soon as the Sun sets. She will remove this paper after the Sun rises to communicate with the villagers that she has survived the night and she is Alive.

Thus, a Plain A4 size Paper is used as a mode of communication to inform about Life or death!!

Do you believe it?
