Hello Steemit family!!
It may sound like a cliché ... but for me it is very real. The blood family is the one that we get, we have no choice in it but the friends we choose ourselves to our liking. They are people with whom we feel full, with whom we can be ourselves without fear of being judged or criticized. When something does you good you want it close ... that's our friendships have so much weight and influence in our lives. Simply by observing groups of friends you can see the influence they have with each other. Musical tastes, appearance, dressing style, hairstyle, way of speaking and so many other things. It is family and friends who forge us to be who we are, inculcate values, teach us daily the simple things of life.
When one is traveling far from home, away from family and friends ... we are in a position where friends are everything for us: friends, family, confidantes and more! That is why the friendships that are born in these situations generate a very strong bond. When I was living in New Zealand, I met lots of people and made many friends. And I learned that time is not a way to measure friendship or feelings. Because sharing two years with friends that I made traveling ... I realized that I had created bonds as strong as those I have with friends of childhood (20 years of friendship). And I think that's why being so far from our comfort zone does that ... that you create very deep bonds with the people that you share the day to day.
That's why when I connect with someone that way, I like to express it and let them know. For many years of my life I struggled to express my feelings and for some time I have been able to reverse that. If I appreciate anyone, I'll tell them. If a person makes me feel at ease and makes my day go from gray to a great day, I will tell you. It seems to me that expressing what you feel about the other person makes the bonds stronger and with it the friendship is strengthened. There is nothing wrong, or cheeky to say to a friend: I love you very much. It may be difficult to get it out, it may sound weird but in my personal experience it is very positive.
That is why I recommend to all of you the following. Express what you feel! You will see that it is a relief in a personal way, to be able to express the things we feel for our loved ones. You never know when you'll see that person again, it's never a better time to do it that than now. And believe me, I know it can be very difficult. I spent most of my life keeping everything inside and I realized it was not good. Expressing your feelings you feel lighter, and really really good.
Well ... I leave you guys with some photos of my soul friends. I hope you enjoyed the reading and thank you very much for the support!

Great post man, thank you for sharing. Moving into adulthood I've lost touch with many friends whom were always really close to me, maybe it's time I check up on them - Life's too short! Thanks bro
I agree! Say it while you can because you may not get the chance again later. This rings a bell ~ with all the natural disasters happening around us we should express how we feel to family and friends because life happens. Live with no regrets! (as much as possible : ) Great post ~ Thank you.
