RE: If you want to live forever stop eating sugars. A true story !
Yep. Sugar is a horrible horrible substance. There was a video a few years ago that talked about how addicting it really is, claiming that it is more addictive that cocaine, and also talked about how there was some research a generation ago that showed sugar is a cause of heart disease, but after this research came out the sugar industry went into defense mode, bought off scientists and laid the blame instead on saturated fat and also actively promoted sugar as healthy.
Finally today we are starting to see this reverse and some of the bad effects of too much sugar are becoming known. Better late than never, I suppose.
Great post!
Thanks @dbooster. My friends Great Uncle. * Prof. John Yudkin* first published a paper in the early 70's squarely pointing the finger at sugar linked to obesity. It wasn't well accepted at the time and although he has since been vindicated, he was (apparently) never happy about the way his excellent work was scorned.. I loved sugar my whole life. I never realised how much we relied on it. not just in sweets but a heavy carb diet.. aka the western diet is a diet rich in sugars. As we have seen the meteoric rise in killer diseases such as cancer, heart disease, etc, we have slowly begun to realise the role of sugars. I'll be back with some other insights !
