We Ibalois have our unique cultural beliefs and ceremonies. And this occasion? We call it "KAEL". The background and reason of this kind of occasion is mainly because of the dead person's request. His/her request is believed to have been communicated through dreams, when someone gets sick in the family and never healed by medication or when the dead person's soul get's into someone's body(possession) and mention his/her request on his/her own. But fot my granparents, they communicated with us through dreams, that they need to be changed and cleaned.

And after having it cleaned.. The ceremony won't be complete without butchering pigs, carabao and a cow as an offering to our dead relatives.

After the having lunch and playing of the tribe's cultural matched with the cultural dance -we call it "TAYAO"-male dance; "SARONG"-female dance( sorry i don't a picture for it 😁), we are ready to distribute the "WATWAT"-the big chunks of meat for the visitors to take home.
