Getting started is easy, Maintaining it is not.

Getting started is easy! Maybe some of you are disagree. Allow me to give you a short story on this subject. But before that, let's agree to disagree agreeably.

I have had a business that only last a year. When first time we started, we were very excited. Me and my friends felt that our ideas are briliant. Investor would like it. We’ll be the most successful people on earth! (Sound excessive, but that’s true).

As time went by, challenges arise, my friends backed down. Allright, I became the last person to survive, and it was just a few moments before the business that we (me and my friends) started was completely collapse.

I don’t want to say that 'getting started is easy' as an assumption and only applies to me. Some of my friend that have experienced on business also agree. And, yes, most of the people I meet, have no trouble in getting started.

Let’s take the example to the practical one. When you start steemit, you introduce yourself eagerly. Then you create content happily. You continue to create more content, and create more and more.

How many people can survive in steemit and finally succeed in steemit?

I think successful people are fewer than those that fail. It is like competition, there is only one winner. In the broader context, everyone can compete, but only a few win.

My second argument is 'maintaining is difficult'.

How long can you maintain in something you start?

The grass is always greener on the other side! It seems true, but not entirely true. The reason is, there are people who are able to make his/her grass greener than others.

These people are the ones who success from the first stage, that getting started stage. They enter the next stage, how to maintain what they already started. Is that easy?

I don’t think that’s easy! I try to focus on one thing, but too much temptation when I want to start focusing for something. Admit it, we prefer a shortcut to reach something, so do I.

One day I realized that, 'getting started is easy, maintaining it is not!'.

This applies in many areas, across industries, in many places where you live, not limited to race and religion. It applies in everything.

The legendary Warren Buffet once said,

“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently.”

We need 20 years to build a reputation. What a nice advice sir! Thank you, that’s not for me! (A lot of people thought they could succeed in just a couple years. That could be true. But not entirely true. Have a goals is good, but maintaining consistency is better).

I prefer be patience and build my reputation.

The conclusion is, when we realize that ‘getting started is easy, maintaining it is not’, we will strive to maintain something we want to strive for. We will be more focused. We could be the winner!

It’s relevance to the crypto world.

In the context of cryptocurrency, I believe that long-term mental is very fundamental.

How many of us choose to cut loss when the price drops.

Most of us lose faith when the banks are no longer sides with the cryptocurrency (and yes they aren’t).

Then we stop doing research and find that the grass is greener on the other side. Lastly and the most sadly, we missed the opportunity to succeed on the field.

And I believe this applies in all areas.

In the end, those who can maintain will win!

Memulai itu Mudah, Mempertahankannya Sulit

Memulai itu mudah! Mungkin banyak dari anda yang tidak sepakat dengan saya. Ijinkan saya untuk memberikan sedikit banyak pengalaman saya tentang hal ini. Mari kita setuju untuk tidak setuju secara setuju.

Saya pernah menjalankan suatu bisnis hanya bertahan satu tahun. Pertama memulai sangat bersemangat, saya dan teman-teman merasa bahwa ide-ide kami briliant. Kami pasti sukses.

Seiring berjalan-nya waktu, tantangan demi tantangan muncul, teman saya satu persatu mundur. Akhirnya saya menjadi orang terakhir yang bertahan, itu pun hanya beberapa saat sebelum akhirnya bisnis yang saya mulai benar-benar hancur.

Saya tidak ingin menyatakan bahwa ‘memulai itu mudah’ adalah asumsi dan hanya berlaku pada saya. Beberapa rekan bisnis yang pernah mengalami hal yang sama dengan saya juga sepakat. Kebanyakan dari orang yang saya temui, tidak kesulitan untuk memulai sesuatu.

Saat anda memulai steemit, anda memperkenalkan diri dengan semangat akan sukses, lalu anda membuat konten dengan bahagia, dan anda terus membuat konten, dan membuat konten lagi.

Berapa banyak orang yang mampu bertahan di steemit dan akhirnya sukses di steemit?

Saya kira pasti yang gagal lebih banyak dari yang sukses. Itu sudah menjadi hukum kompetisi, dimana hanya ada satu pemenang. Dalam konteks yang lebih luas, semua orang bisa berkompetisi, tetapi hanya beberapa yang menang.

Argumen kedua saya adalah, ‘mempertahankan itu sulit’.

Berapa lama anda bertahan dalam sesuatu yang anda mulai?

Rumput tetangga selalu lebih hijau! Rasanya itu benar, tetapi tidak sepenuhnya benar. Alasannya adalah, ada orang-orang yang mampu membuat rumputnya lebih hijau dari yang lain.

Orang-orang ini lah yang lolos dari tahap pertama, yaitu tahap memulai, mereka memasuki tahap mempertahankan. Apakah itu mudah?

Saya kira tidak! Saya berusaha untuk fokus pada satu hal, tetapi terlalu banyak godaan ketika ingin memulai fokus untuk sesuatu. Akui saja, kita lebih suka jalan pintas untuk menggapai sesuatu, demikian juga saya.

Suatu hari saya menyadari bahwa, ‘memulai itu mudah, mempertahankannya susah!’.

Ini berlaku di berbagai bidang, di berbagai industri, di berbagai tempat dimana anda tinggal, tidak terbatas pada suku, ras, dan agama.

Warren Buffet pernah berkata , “we need 20 years to build reputation, we could destroy it in 5 minutes”.

Kita membutuhkan 20 tahun untuk membangun reputasi, kita dapat menghancurkannya hanya dalam 5 menit.

Kesimpulannya adalah, ketika kita sadar bahwa memulai itu mudah, tetapi mempertahankannya sulit, maka kita akan berusaha untuk mempertahankan sesuatu yang ingin kita perjuangkan. Kita akan lebih fokus. Kita bisa jadi sedikit dari yang banyak. Alias pemenang!

Relevansi Terhadap Investasi di Mata Uang Kripto

Saya percaya bahwa, mental 'mempertahankan' adalah mental fundamental dalam konteks investasi mata uang kripto.

Berapa banyak dari kita yang memilih untuk cut loss ketika harga turun.

Untuk berhenti ketika pandangan dunia tidak lagi memihak pada mata uang kripto.

Kemudian berhenti melakukan riset untuk mencari peluang, dan berpindah ke bidang lain yang rumputnya lebih hijau. Lalu, melewatkan kesempatan untuk sukses di bidang kripto.

Saya yakin hal ini tidak hanya berlaku pada dunia kripto, namun berbagai bidang industri.

Pada akhirnya, mereka yang bisa bertahan akan menang!
