Existential Crisis
So i'm going to say sorry in advance guys, but i'll give you a warning now, that this is going to be a little morbid, and maybe a little deep.
Have any of us thought about what happens when we die, or what happens when someone flatlines. i've been watching the new film, Flatliners (2017) and i'm thinking that i would really like to try this, especially if it helps with your mind like it does in the film.

You get to thinking, what does flatlining actually do, not just to you mentally, but physically, emotionally, existentially?
Just knowing that you died must have a profound impact on you, no matter who you are, or how it happens. Say however that you did conduct the experiment that they do in Flatliners, and lets say that a similar thing happens to you, you get a mental increase in some way.
What would be the negative effects of this? is this a permanent change? is this something that shortens your life in some way? we don't know any of these questions (btw, not that i believe i should need to tell anyone, but please do not try any of the experiments from this film).
Then there is the actual existential question, say you did die for 2, 3 or even 4 minutes. what would you see? Would you even see anything at all? there are some that theorise that when we die, the last thing to go in your mind is actually the memory centre. As this part of the brain dies, your brain fires random impulses that basically shows your life flash before your eyes as the saying goes.
Some people say that your brain, on it's last breath randomly fires neurons, and to try and make sense of this, it ends up constructing different scenarios or just random images which you end up constructing into a narrative when you wake up (if you wake up). Then again, do you actually see something metaphysical, something not of this world, part of the next, souls of the dead? do you see family, friends, your ancestors, no one knows this.
this is something that scientists and religious experts have been debating over for decades. me personally, i'm a little dark i guess, i believe that you have one life, there is no afterlife, there is no bright light at the end of a tunnel. maybe you see something, maybe you don't, if you do i would put it down to random impulses in the brain firing randomly as the brain dies. But you die and that's it, just darkness, no reincarnation, no afterlife that's it.
What you have to understand though, is that is what makes life worth living. Say you do only have the one life, and there is nothing more, wouldn't you want to make the most of the life that you have, instead of wasting time on frivolous things popularity, being rich. I would rather be rich with experience, i want to travel the world, see different places, try different things.
Unfortunately in todays society, you literally need to be rich to be able to do any of that, maybe you're lucky enough to go to a local country a few times, doesn't cost much, and it's a short holiday. However in order to really travel, you need to be able to support yourself for long lengths of time.
So what i will say my friends, is don't waste your life being angry, being selfish or feeling negative.
Think Positive! Feel Positive! and good things will come.
