All of us have goals. They can be short-term, which can be achieved in 2-4 weeks, medium-term, calculated for 3-6 months and long-term, for the implementation of which a year or more is required. The latter may include, for example, the following

Learn the C programming language.
Run the marathon.
Find a well-paid job.
Obviously, to achieve these goals, you need to learn how to properly break them. What for? First, it's impossible to realize them at once, each of them assumes a long work. Secondly, it will allow not to lose motivation, to show willpower and move forward, no matter what.

How correctly to split the goals? Here are 3 ways to do this.

By time
To achieve a great goal, you need to move small steps forward, and it must be done every day.

But even part of the global goal can cause stupefying. For example, to go to level B1 in English, you need to at least gradually exercise every day. It's better than saying to yourself: "I'll study this book", because in this case there is no time frame. And if so, the motivation may disappear after a few weeks or even days.

Of course, the example described is exaggerated. One book that you pass in your spare time, can quite pull up your knowledge to the level required from an academic point of view. Provided that, at its conclusion, you will remember what you learned at the beginning. That's why time and limitations are important in it.
