What a travesty!
I am shocked at how many people think that autism is a walk in the park. Some condemn parents for trying to heal their children, by saying that parents are simply not accepting of their child's diversity.
Yes, we should be accepting of different ways of learning and different personality types -- but we should not accept painful abdominal cramping, seizures, self-injury through head banging, etc. There are very very sick children with autism that desperately need help.
A big part of the problem is that there is a huge variety of symptoms on the "spectrum" -- so someone who is just 'quirky' yet labelled autistic, can not be compared to those many that are desperately ill.
Thank-you for shedding light on this important topic.
I have resteemed it!
Thanks @canadian-coconut... It is such a travesty!
