Over the past five years, social media picture app Instagram has sky rocketed to popularity with recent conducted studies showing that more than a third of all American adults use the ever growing app.

Although Instagram isn't quite on the level of Facebook it is defiantly beating out other social media apps such as Twitter (which 24% of American adults use) and also other app mediums such as kik or Snapchat.

The social media picture app is now valued at a huge 35 million US dollars as of 2018 with over 300 million active users on the platform, it makes up roughly 16% of Facebook's 221 Billion US Dollars after being acquired by the social media giant for 1 Billion Dollars just 18 months after its launch.

Instagram is make waves in the online scene with the apps popularity only heading upwards with more unique users each month.
