When we are children we are excited about the presents and the fact of having them, but with the time we see how the values are changing, I see on my son's example, when he receives presents I look at his reaction and you know he never disappointed, even if he really did not like the presents but he really showed his appreciation and this was purely coming from his heart.
The same with many of us, it is not the fact to get a gift but to get attention and appreciate the appreciation of those people who values you.
By the way, beautiful tulips, in this stage they are still not open, the best stage that I love, I always hope that it takes longer to stay like just picked up :)

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers. Any color, every color.
I particularly love the edit in your last photo. Thank you for posting it.
I taught my children (now grown) that their presence is always more appreciated than their presents. (Not that I didn't appreciate their gifts - I love gifts!! but I love them more.)
