Unemployment- what the society believes

in #life7 years ago

Unemployment is Avery drastic situation in the community. Bridges and walks are made by the society to demacate the employee from the unemployed. The society believes in and respects the decisions and words of an employed youth while the points of views and words of an unemployed youth are not seen as reasonable or tangible.

A friend of mine studied physiology and graduated with a 2nd class upper. He further went to do his masters. Due to lack of employment, he applied for a second degree in medicine and surgery which was denied at first. He is still in search of a job. The society he stays attributes his inability to get a job as a bad luck. He has lost his respect in the society that parents use him as an example to their kids advising them not to render the usual greetings they have been rendering to him because he carries bad luck.

They seem to forget that in the present Nigeria, you have to be well connected to have a chance of getting a job in a company or industry of your choice.

The unemployed suffer rejection and struggle to survive in a society that they are seen to be carriers of bad luck.

Now in the Nigerian system, it doesn't matter what grade you graduated with from school, what speaks for you after school is your ability to get the right connections in order to get employed.

Out of 100% graduates, 80% are unemployed. 20% are employed with 15% being paid less than $139.
What is the way forward when our leaders are busy with their personal life other than establishing industries to reduce the rate of unemployment.

How will aging parents survive when after spending their life investments in educating their children, then they stay at home still dependent for years because of lack of employment

What will encourage the youths to further their education when they know that they will end up not getting employed

How will reckless lifestyle end when the youths go into dirty things due to frustration just to get a meal a day.

What is the future for our children?
