I have mixed thoughts on this.
Though I know that some people are more compatible for you than others, I've always thought of the idea "We don't find our soulmates, we make them" to be more believable.
Sure, some lucky people out there do find the one in an early age, but that's the thing... those lucky people are rare in numbers and that's why I'm open to both the ideas.
These days the number of people that are ready to 'make soulmates' is decreasing as well. People would rather throw away everything than to work and fix it. We are living in a generation where people are more comfortable to replace something if it is broken rather than fix it. But yeah, I do get your point and both scenarios do indeed exist.
