I remember when I was going through a spiritual initiation years ago. My guide told me (he was formally initiated into an African tradition) that as part of his knowledge of self experience his teacher had him dress as a female priest (Aset or Isis) for a period of months. He did this so my guide would embrace his feminine side more--he had serious issues with the feminine and had spent time in Attica prison which had made him even more hard. This embracing his inner feminine strengthened and softened him. He is very accepting of all sexual orientations and is a warrior type without the hardness. I've seen the balanced warrior type a lot in men who practice martial arts and chi work. African spiritual traditions seem to be more accepting than the mainstream cultures, from my experience...
Wow! @awakened-oracle Thank you so much for your unique insight and for sharing. What a beautiful comment, i really appreciate it! It is so sad that homophobia is strong among the mainstream communities here in Africa, but i have hope this is steadily not being the case. I am working towards a world where there is love and acceptance for all sexual orientations in this case here and in the world at large. By the way, from what i read, i really like your guide already. He's cool! That was a nice technique his teacher used, for me it would be the reverse! lol. Hoping to see more of you from now on, so i just followed you. With lots of love. :)
Yes, he was quite the character fiery yet compassionate and full of knowledge. I feel you will continue to be a strong and powerful voice for acceptance in many places; thanks for the follow also...
