The perfect reason to chop off my hair for good

in #life7 years ago

Hi Steemians!

Hope you have amazing things planned for the weekend.

So you may not know but I have a massive interest in supporting different charities.

With the help of many last year I was able to raise over £600 in 2 month for Candlelighters which is a local charity in Leeds and Yorkshire, England. Supporting children who have cancer and their families too.

So this year I do not have a self observed excuse like a ‘Pageant Competition’ to raise money. Just the good old ‘Let’s help others because we can’ sentiment.

This year my chosen charity is ‘Little Princess Trust’.
They make/provide wigs for children who lose their hair due to their illness.

Check the website for more information on the charity: http://www.littleprincesses.org.uk/

So what is the plan?

  1. I will get my hair chopped off at the end of August - date to be set yet
  2. Organise events to raise money for charity

Target: £500

WHY?

If the charity has to buy in wigs for the children it cost between £350 and £500 to get 1 wig. So I set my target to raise enough money to buy at least 1 wig for a child. Fair enough don’t you think?

Interestingly, if hair is donated to the charity it cost close to nothing to make the wigs.
HINT - get your hair chopped if you dare and care to help.

However, donating money is just as caring! So here is my JustGiving page set up for this charity. The smallest amount would matter. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ivett-dolmany

Also, if this post receives up votes and will bring in a claimable reward I will also donate that money to this charity.

BONUS!! - When you donate you get to vote for the hairstyle I should have my hair cut to. Oooh the POWER!

Choose between 1-4! (I cast my vote for 3 winkwink)

GO!
