Happiness - by @dragonslayer101
One of the biggest things in life that everyone is constantly looking for is happiness, but how do we become happy? Will we ever be happy or is it something we will never get? After some thought I found 3 important factors that can help with happiness.
Family/friends
I put family at the top of the list as without family life can not be lived to its fullest. Often I go to family gatherings and generally there are so many people there as the family is huge. But this is what makes things fun, there is always enough people to dance with and chat to.
Whenever you need something family is always there to help out or to support you. The home is a place where no one judges and you will always be loved and fit in. The best times and memories are with those you love and with your closest friends.
Work
Nothing is more rewarding than getting what you deserve after a good day of long hard work. People who love their work and do their best will find that they will be happier. If you do not have the perfect job for you just never stop working as work will keep you busy and if you are not busy you will become depressed.
Service
Making other people smile can bring light to your world, when you help others you will always be happy. If you are ever unhappy while helping someone else, then you need to take some time to do some deep reflecting. Happiness seems to rub off on people and if everyone around you is happy with you then will be happy. If you have to only do one thing your entire life long make sure that it brings other people happiness.
thanks for sharing this beautiful and yet reflective piece. however, i have some remarks and questions. for those living in the 3rd world countries like zimbabwe, haiti, Nigeria etc ; the standard of living is inexplicably low, high rate of killings, depreciation in currency, unemployment, epileptic power supply, bad governance and so on determine their lifestyle. and therefore they cannot employ the above factors to experience happiness in its full form. For happiness to thrive, the above factors have to be present to aid happiness in order to find its true essence. but we find here that in these developing countries, life expectancy is greatly shortened and this is because the problems listed above make it extremely difficult to find happiness in these factors. take for example, a working class man who struggles to take care of his family losses his life as a result of these problems. the family becomes helpless and there is a big vacuum which cant be filled because he was the sole provider of his family(which was the first factor you listed). it is only certain that they would find bitterness and anguish in every area of their lives (lets have it in mind that the problems listed above are still present). how would they survive and still find happiness in everything they do?. i could go on and on but what i want us to learn from this piece is that wherever we find ourselves we should always use the opportunities around us to make meaning out of life thereby, finding happiness. because that thing you have and not satisfied with, someone out there can give the world for it and would rather die than loose it. thanks for this piece once again.
I like your apt and comprehensive reply @kellyval95. Happiness comes from making the available the desireable. External factors are promoters of happiness
happiness is what makes the world the world go round. Thanks for sharing this !
Yes
Thank you for sharing this kind of piece. Your words are indeed enlightening. I realized even more that happiness does not just limit to having the materials things that we have and are still about to be given to us. It's more about the priceless satisfaction and the feeling of joy we got from all the people surrounding us most especially our family, friends, and loved ones. They all keep us going. They are the reason why we wake up each day with high hopes, dreams, and determination. They make us more inspired every day that's why we excel in everything we do just like in our workplace. That's another thing to be happy about, being recognized as outstanding in our field of specialization (at work).
Happiness is also another powerful feeling because it pulls us closer to others who need happiness in their lives. We share our happiness to others and we become even happier when we're able to do that.
And most of all, I also realized that happiness is just around every corner of ourselves. We have to find happiness within ourselves first before we can appreciate the different kind of happiness that others can give us.
I personally think you are the creator of your own happiness and your mind set plays a big part too! Those three elements are definitely key. Thanks for sharing this post and I am looking forward to seeing your future posts :)
That's a lot of wisdom @dragonslayer101!
In the end it comes to what matters the most (family, friends, and people we love) and to what consumes most of our time (work and passion) and the good and contribution we make in the world.
Though the important is easily forgotten when we have so many less important things that eat up our time and thoughts.
Great post!
le meilleur moment a passer c'est étre entourer en famille

Hello there ! Amazing post and it really shows that you are a valuable person. To be honest you just put a smile on my face. Only i would not agree with the third factor title. I would not title it Service but Sharing. Because you know when you are helping someone by trying to make him happier you share your happiness , you share your smile and share your efforts. Just sharing personal opinion because i like your point of view. Amazing post and i really look forward to follow your posts. :)
I'd like to agree with your valuable thoughts as well especially in the idea about sharing something to others to make them happpier. In my experience, I was able to do small good deeds to others (like old beggars and street kids). The feeling is really amazing when you know you're able to share to them something good and when you see them smiling as they look at you in the eyes and softly say 'thank you'. Seeing them smile is already enough. Hearing them say 'thank you' is already a bonus. We know it's real service and a real act of kindness if we're not expecting something in return, not even a 'thank you note' from the person/s we are helping.
Amazing poit of view thank you for sharing your values , spreading happiness and most of all restoring faith in humanity ! <3
Thank you! :) :)
when you have the real happiness, you feel complete, and you spread that happiness to others, good post, It has made me reflect and see that it gives me true happiness.
I agree with your idea about having real happiness makes a person feel complete. ❤❤ Just in addition based on my own opinion, that real happiness refers to us as we are finding or have already found within ourselves the real reason of our own happiness. If we are able to know that, the more we can easily appreciate how others make us happy and the more we can spread love and happiness to other people who need happy pills to keep them going in living their lives to the fullest.
Happiness brings peace to the mind, and the joy of servicing is one must serve to be serve and the family always watch your back even when you in trouble
