Women are Awesome!!! Fem Power Acro Festival [Epic Acro Video Inside]

Traffic jams, deadlines, and bills stress out us adults. I like to balance this stress with playtime! My play is acrobatics, which sent me to an incredible all female festival called FemPowerAcro.

It was an exploitative place where the most beginner and advanced practitioners came together to celebrate "the diversity of badass, inspiring, powerful & empowered ladies in Acro."

Honestly, I was moved to see what women can do together. The answer: everything that women and men are traditionally doing together. We did all of the amazing tricks that I previously practiced with male bases, and I learn so many new skills!

When we weren't doing acrobatics, we had discussions about gender norms, race, romance, and sexuality. It was beautiful to hear the diversity of stories within my community.

^We were often found stretching during these discussions.

Here is a quick poem I wrote for Danya, the festival founder:

Since agriculture
Powers tilted Solar
Men took it with their muscles
Giving us their troubles

We are making progress
So our daughters can be blessed
This festival will be a place
Where equality we can taste

I want to be a part of herstory
Joyous in loving fiery
I will be a fire cracker
Sharing joyous matter

Creating a community
With Fem Power beautifully
I will come home more wise
Helping women rise.
