Reasons why one shouldn't be gay!

The topic of Same-sex marriage has been at the front burner of many a discourse globally, since the end of the last millennium. People have protested in favour of it, others against it. Governments have equally had to vote on whether or not to allow it in their countries. Currently, it is legalized in a few countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, South Africa, Argentina, Spain, France e.t.c while other countries have outlawed it.

Same-sex marriage is the coming together in a marriage of two people of the same sex or gender; a man marries a man or a woman marries a woman. Same-sex marriage or Gay marriage as it is fondly referred to is blatantly wrong.

Naturally, marriage is a union between two people of opposite genders and this for aeons given room to the biological procreation of human offspring (one of the fruits of mutual affection between man and woman) and formation of families. Nature requires that whenever a healthy man and a healthy woman come together in sexual intercourse, chances increase for children to be conceived. This will be children of their own, bearing their own DNA. Meanwhile, in same-sex marriages all you have is a sterile union because it is not in line with natures design; a man cannot impregnate a man no more than a woman can impregnate a man, talk more or less of a woman. People who engage in same-sex relations circumvent nature by having children through artificial means or employing surrogates. This breaks nature's laws and gives birth to the unbalanced families where a child has two fathers or two mothers. Such a child becomes deficient of biological fatherly influence or a mother's love as the case may be and that can't be a complete environment for a child's growth.

Furthermore, the promotion and practice of homosexuality shatters not only nature's law but even the moral code. It tries to forge a moral wrong into a civil right. Everyone has a right to be free and happy but not at the expense of breaking human laws and growing a child in an unnatural atmosphere. Promoting same-sex marriage, homosexuality and the other variants and persuasions for acceptance is introducing a new morality that is alien unnatural. This will only be the beginning of the introduction of so many other abominable acts such as paedophilia, necrophilia, incest, bestiality and the clamour for its acceptance. Paul Varnell, a homosexual activist, once stated in the Chicago free press that;

"The gay movement, whether we acknowledge it or not, is not a civil rights movement, not even a sexual liberation movement, but a moral revolution aimed at changing people's view of homosexuality."

If homosexuality and same-sex marriage is not arrested while we still can, we might just be witnessing a moral revolution that will overwhelm and get us waist-deep in into something we will regret.

Ultimately, homosexuality, same-sex marriage, bisexuality, transgender and their variants are huge disobedience to God. Let us make reference to the Bible, the first mention of the act of homosexuality was in the land of Sodom and Gomorrah and this incurred the fiery wrath of God.“The Lord rained down sulphurous fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah. He overthrew those cities and the whole Plain, together with the inhabitants of the cities and the produce of the soil.” (Gen. 19:24-25). Even in the New Testament, the Apostle Paul condemns this abominable act, saying; “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.”(Romans 1:26-27).

Marriage in itself is an institution created by the Almighty God and He has set laws to guide this institution. After creating the first couple; Adam and Eve, the book of Genesis reports that “God created man in His image; in the Divine image he created him; male and female He created them. God blessed them, saying: ‘Be fertile and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.’” (Gen. 1:28-29), and then His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ came in the New Testament and added “From the beginning of the creation, God made them male and female. For this cause, a man shall leave his father and mother; and shall cleave to his wife.” (Mark 10:6-7).

In closing, people say 'do whatever makes you happy', but the right thing should be 'do whatever makes you happy, as long as you don’t hurt anyone and you don’t derail the laws of nature’. Same-sex marriage does drastically violate nature's law, turns moral wrong into a civil right and then ultimately, disregards and disrespects God (the inventor and creator of marriage) and in that case, should be proscribed. We are already in an era of moral bankruptcy and the best we can do is to try to make sure the word 'Morals' and what it stands for does not entirely go into extinction.
