Starting to write some code, use some Linux just try something new

in #learntocode8 years ago

Im the sort of person who talk a lot, I always tell people what I'm thinking of doing or what would be a good idea or how easy something is to do. but I'm never the person doing something.

I have always wanted to be able to write code to do something for me. Im a very lazy person so I'm fascinated by people who are able to write code to do something for them. Friends at work would script tasks they had to do; A family member worked at Twitter; i read a lot of net sec stuff that i have absolutely no idea how they are doing what they do but it fascinates me.

I am going to try to learn some coding. I have got a referral for a cloud service; got a linux box setup and I'm going to have a play around and see what i can get it to do.... or not.....

couple of things I am going to look into:

Steem bot's - I have seen a lot of fuss about this. not sure if its something thats approved of in general by the community so let me know what you think. I do think there are lots of ways a bot can add value.

twitter bot 's- something simple which interacts with users on twitter. There would be lots of interesting things to learn here

I also want to learn how to use Linux so i am going to try to do this all on a linux box. I have had a little experience before at work. I have also managed to setup a steem miner using some very helpful guides found here on steem. so have some experience to get me started.

lots of reading and trying stuff but hopefully that will keep me engaged and i won't give up at the first hurdle.
if there is anything you think might help or some advice let me know.

lets see how it goes

Hi! This post has a Flesch-Kincaid grade level of 6.4 and reading ease of 85%. This puts the writing level on par with Stephen King and Dan Brown.

ill have some of that! lol even if you are a bot?
