The blue lily, whose scientific name is agapanthus praecox, is an annual plant that can last up to 75 years.

Also called by other names of common agapanthus, African lily, or liky of the Nile, it is a popular garden plant worldwide, especially in Mediterranean climates.

This plant is native to Kwa Zulu-Natal and Western Cape provinces of South Africa.

Blue lilies usually have 10 to 11 leathery leaves and usually grow 0.8 to 1 meter tall.

Flowers bloom in late spring and summer and are blue, purple, or white.
