Motivation and Rewards

in #landscapephotography7 years ago (edited)

During the non winter months I like to hike as much as possible. When I was young I think my grandfather instilled a value of solitude with nature within me. I have a lot of good memories walking through forests that I thought were boundless.

These days I usually take a reward with me for getting to the top of the mountain (or turn around point). In the summer months it's usually some kind of alcohol, most often beer. I keep it cold using one of those freezable lunchkits.

Lately I've been taking a thermos full of hot tea, and I gotta tell you, there's nothing like sitting on top of a mountain and drinking a nice hot cuppa.

Great photos, dude. Are these all from East Sooke Park? The third one looks like it's Mount Wurk, and the 2nd one looks like something else entirely.

Also -- I'll gloss over the fact that you got my username wrong.... But be advised that you ARE able to edit your post and redeem honor to your family.

EDIT: great. Now I just look like an asshole.

Nice, Chris! I always love hiking with you even if you go too fast for me sometimes! Beer or tea at the top is THA BEST!
