Patti ( Sicily )

Patti is a town in northeastern Sicily, southern Italy, on the western shore of the gulf of the same name. It is located 76 kilometres (47 mi) from Messina.
It is connected to the rest of Sicily by train, and the A20 Palermo-Messina highway. It is still known for the ruins of Tindari, famous for its ancient Greece theater, and the Villa Romana.
It stands near the site of the ancient Tyndaris, the current town name derives from the name given by its inhabitants after they moved there, following an earthquake that destroyed Tindari, forcing them to find another place to settle. The new site was named Ep' Aktin (Ἐπ' Ἀκτήν, Greek for 'on the shore'), from which the contracted name "Patti" derives.

Patti is also famous for its large sandy beaches, and breath taking view.

You would find some good local restaurant and ice cream place, we try many place for ice cream and settle down at the end for Iceland in Patti Marina near the beach, there ice cream is far the best I have eat in a long time, for restaurant you have a lot from to choice, but we choice most of the time Papilla there food is amazing and the choice is good with some special every day, price are really reasonable, for breakfast our preferred place was Ambrosia Caffe, the service was wonderful, the food amazing ( Classic Italian Breakfast ) good Cappuccino and coffee.

Walking true the street of Patti was a wonderful expirience we find all this narrow street were a car could not possible pass and after every corner we found some amazing architecture and some sculpture that was bringing us back a few hundreds of year the old city was amazing the door were one time all people were going true still stands.
We found the most beautiful square hidden treasure of this old part of the city, at one point we passed true this narrow street and come up to an old church called the church of the Agonizzanti we toke some picture of the inside it was a wonderful experience going more up the hilly road we got to the Cathedral of Patti were the Queen Adelasia is buried, the church again was of a superb architecture, and the painting and sculpture were beautiful.

Overall our time in Patti just over 3 Months, was amazing we got to try new food and experience the local life, a visit to the local vine store and a taste of there wine was amazing, by the time we were living for our next destination the local fisher man were all starting to work and put there ship in the see to start the new fishing season ( we eat the most fresh fish we ever had just toke out of the see and the taste was amazing )
The best time to visit Patti and around is from April true end of June and then from the end of August till Beginning of November , July and August is so crowded that I do not suggest to visit in that period.
