05:00 제7연대 정면의 적은 봉의산지구 제7연대 정면에 주공을 두고, 제19연대 정면을 조공으로 하여 소양강 도하작전 감행, 아 제7연대와 제19연대는 총화력을 집중, 도하하려는 적을 공격
10:00 제19연대는 학곡리에 집결한 후 13시 홍천으로 철수
11:00 제6사단 사령부 홍천으로 철수. 제7연대 대전차포중대 홍천으로 이동
11:30 적은 아 진전에 육박
13:00 적 소양강교 돌파
14:00 적 춘천시내로 돌입, 피아간 일대결전이 전개
18:00 4시간에 치열한 전투 끝에 적 춘천시 점령
20:00 제7연대 석사리로 철수, 석사리 일대에 배치
북한군에 의해 춘천이 함락된 시각은 6월 27일 18시였다. 전쟁 당일 춘천 점령을 목표로 삼았던 북한군은 계획보다 2일이 더 소요되었다. 뿐만아니라 아 제6사단의 치열한 방어로 인하여 적의 전투력은 상당한 피해를 입었다. 이와 같은 전투결과는 차후작전 수행의 차질을 초래했다.
또한 적 제2사단이 수원을 작전계획에 부합되게 점령하기 위해서는 부대가 차량화 또는 기계화가 필요한 것으로 보이나 당시 이동수단 및 기계화 전력을 분석하면 그렇지 못했다는 것을 알 수 있다. 전투는 시간과의 싸움이다. 우리의 입장에서는 천만다행이었다. 그러나 한가지 의문이 드는 것은 그러한 임무을 수행하는 부대에게 차량화 또는 기계화 전력을 구비하지 않았는지는 의아하게 생각된다.
