Peacock: An Advocate of Beauty and Nobility

Its deep blue-green feathers alone mark the peacock as one of the most breathtaking birds on this planet and is native to South Asia. Its display encompasses a stunning range of feathers, with male peafowls (as they are called) showing off their extravagant tail during the mating season. All around the world, those deep hues of blue, gold, and green can be seen on plenty of peacocks.

Peacock feathers are full of color, but the best part about them is the shimmering effect they exhibit due to microscopic structures that reflect light. Not only during mating season does the male peacock show off its feathers; doing so also shows off signs of vitality and strength. During the courtship, the male peacock holds its tail like a fan and shows off its beauty alongside its graceful movements so he can attract females. And puts them in a trance.

Every culture has its own interpretations of how peacocks symbolize their values, which is different from one region to another, making it incredibly interesting. The Hindu tales of deities like Lord Krishna riding a peacock is not new, but in folklore, they are shown symbolizing wisdom, protection, and even immortality.

As the loud snarks from the peacocks can be heard before the rain starts pouring down, they have become a symbol of change and renewal in nature. Monsoon or dry season, the peacock has always acted as a living example.
