An Ode to Wood, or How I Almost Built A Hut and Realized That Wood Is For A Reason!
Tree. The word is as simple as birch sap. It almost sounds like a neighbor snoring, but in fact... a tree is not just for you! It's a whole philosophy, multiplied by a copromat and flavored with a pinch of the madness of a self-taught architect. For example, I've always considered myself a man with hands. Well, I mean, I have them, and sometimes they even obey. As long as it's not about the tree.
It all started with a noble goal: to build a hut. Yes, I, an adult man, decided to return to my childhood. To remember what it's like to hide from the world in a cozy shelter of branches and leaves. Oh, naive… I thought it would be enough to find a few sticks, tie them with rope and... voila! The masterpiece of forest architecture is ready!
The first obstacle that stood in my way was sticks. It turns out that the sticks in the nearest forest are not perfectly straight, of the same thickness and length, waiting to be picked up and turned into a work of art. They grow crooked, gnarled, and eager to prick at the most inopportune moment. After an hour of fighting with these forest hooligans, I realized that my romantic picture of the hut was beginning to fade.
But I didn't give up! I'm a man with hands! (Remember?) I brought home a chainsaw. Then, of course, the lumberjack woke up in me. Whoosh! Whoosh! And now sticks are flying in all directions, sawdust is tickling my nose, and I feel like a real hero. However, when I looked at the pile of logs that resulted from my rampage, I realized that I had gone a little overboard. I got a hut the size of a small house. Well, okay, but there's plenty of room for everyone!
The next stage was assembly. And then the most interesting thing began. It turns out that just tying the sticks with a rope is not an option. They tend to spread out in different directions, like cockroaches in the light. I've been struggling with these knots like a professor with quantum physics. The rope was constantly breaking, the sticks were falling, and I was swearing like a cobbler.
Once, I almost nailed my finger. It's a good thing I missed! But it taught me one thing: the tree does not tolerate dilettantism. It requires respect, knowledge and, most importantly, the right tool. I realized that my childhood ideas about building a hut were far from reality.
In the end, I couldn't make a hut. More precisely, it turned out to be some kind of strange structure, more like a dinosaur skeleton than a cozy shelter. But I wasn't upset. I realized that wood is a material with character. It is alive, breathing, and requires a special approach.
Now I look at wooden houses and admire the craftsmanship of those who built them. I see not just logs and planks, but whole stories embedded in every detail. I understand how much work, knowledge and patience it takes to curb this capricious material and turn it into a true masterpiece.
Sometimes I think it would be worthwhile to finish the job and build this hut. But then I remember my torments with knots and a chainsaw, and I feel good and calm. I'd rather buy myself a comfortable rocking chair made of wood and enjoy the view of nature, and leave the construction to the professionals.
After all, a tree is for a reason! It's an art form. It's a philosophy. And, as it turned out, it's also very funny if you look at your attempts to conquer him from the outside. So, friends, love the tree, respect it, and don't try to build a hut if you don't have the experience. Or better yet, just order yourself some good wooden furniture and enjoy your life! After all, the main thing is comfort and a good mood. And the tree, after all, is very conducive to this. The main thing is to use it correctly! And then, believe me, your acquaintance with the tree will not only be useful, but also unforgettable and hilarious!
