봉평 메밀 꽃밭 & 문학의 숲 / PyeongChang BongPyeong Buckwheat flowers & Literature Forest

드라마 '도깨비' 이후로 줄곧 메밀 꽃밭을 보고 싶었는데, 8월 말에 여유가 생겨서 봉평에 다녀왔습니다.  

사실 봉평은 도깨비 촬영 장소는 아니지만, 메밀로 유명한 곳이죠. 

봉평은 소설 '메밀 꽃 필 무렵'의 배경으로도 잘 알려져 있습니다. 9월 이맘 때가 바로 메밀 꽃이 절정이라고 해요. 메밀 꽃말이 '연인' 그리고 '사랑'이라지요 :)

BongPyeong(봉평) is a small town located in PyeongChang(평창), the third Asian city to host the 2018 Winter Olympics. The town is well known for its high quality buckwheat(메밀) in Korea. I visited the place in the end of August so I couldn't see that much flowers at that time. The white buckwheat flowers usually blossom in September this time of the year. The flower symbolizes love. 

언제부터인지 고층 빌딩이 없는 탁 트인 곳을 보고 싶다는 생각이 들었습니다. 속이 뻥 뚤릴 정도로 아무 것도 없는 곳에 가고 싶었어요. 

봉평이 제게 그런 힐링 장소가 되어 주었습니다. 

BongPyeong is a small farming town. You will enjoy the beautiful countryside landscape and hardly see high-rise buildings there. I really enjoyed this serene countryside and the fresh air. BongPyeong would be the perfect getaway destination for everyone.  

저 멀리 귀여운 평창 마스코트, 수호랑과 반다비가 보이네요.

The Cute PyeongChang Olympic mascots, Soohorang(수호랑) and Bandabi(반다비) welcome visitors. 

우연히 길을 따라 가다가 소설을 재현해 놓은 '이효석 문학의 숲'도 걸어봤습니다. 

별 기대 없이 입장했는데, 공들여 꾸며 놓았더군요. 온가족 산책 코스로 무난할 듯 해요. 

The place is also known as the setting of the novel "When the Buckwheat Blossoms" by Lee Hyo-Seok. There is a small garden called "Lee Hyo-Seok Literature Forest(이효석 문학의 숲)" that reproduced the setting of this famous novel. There are some traditional peasant houses and a waterwheel, too. Good walking trails for families. 

길을 지나다가 예뻐서 찰칵, 찰칵, 찰칵. 

옆에 한우농장이 있었는데 냄새가 ㅎㅎ  '오~ 스멜~' 숨을 참으며 또 한번 찰칵. 

There seemed to be a small cattle farm near the field. I could smell strongly while I was passing by :) 

9월 2일부터 10일까지 '효석문화제'가 열린다고 합니다. 벌써 내일이 마지막 날이네요. 내일 훌쩍 떠나보는 건 어떨까요?  :)
