Art of Knowing Yourself - Challege: This helps us to evaluate ourselves.

in #knowyourself7 years ago (edited)

Greetings to all, today I come to tell you a little about my personal life and all the things we have to do when our parents separate and then you have to live with your grandmother because your mother has to leave the country.

Why do I think it is important knowing yourself?

Knowing yourself is important for all people, because if we are not clear about who we are and what we want, we will never know where we are going.

Sometimes we have to live many things and if we are not clear about our identity, we won't know how to face all those situations or get out of the problems.

I think we should start by asking ourselves: Who are we and where do we want to go? This question will give us an answer to many others, such as: What do we like? What do we believe in? Among others, valued, having high self-esteem and a good education are key pieces for the future.

I had to mature from a very young age, since I was the oldest of my brothers and I often had to take care of them so that my mother would go out to work, I did not have a childhood like any other child since my dolls were of flesh and blood, I had to learn to cook and do household chores and study everything at the same time.

When I found out that my mother had to leave the country to work outside, it bothered me a lot and I thought she was abandoning us and I even think that she did not want me, my rebellion came to the surface, I did not want to take care of my brothers anymore or help my Mom in the home, I did not care about the studies anymore, and I just spent the time denying everything, I made my mother's life impossible.

The day I left I understood that all I did was argue with her and we did not share beautiful moments, that I ruined the time I could have enjoyed it, that I did not feel that hug when saying goodbye to my silly pride and that I have 9 months without seeing her and I currently miss her a lot.

What did I learn about myself?

I learned that pride is useless and that nobody knows what they have until they sees it lost, that I had to mature before time, but my mother had to work two shifts to bring us food, that it was my fault too, for my difficult to see her go, for her wasn't easy to leave her country and leave everything she loves, I learned that other people are going through worse things.

I learned that you have to listen first before judging someone.

I learned that with my actions I did not win anything and I lost a lot.

The family are the most important things we have and we must take care of them because we don't know when we're going to have them.
