" Wiwit " tradition

Wiwit for us people klaten central Java and surrounding areas may already be familiar.
ie offerings to Dewi Sri for protection and yield of rice.
after planting rice farmers perform rituals and offerings to Dewi Sri in the hope that the plant can grow well and safe from plant pests. farmers depart from the house with food together with their side dishes to the paddy fields to the rice fields where they are planted. after diplaceluggage arriveslowered then prayed to the ruler of nature to ask for protection for the rice they planted. .finished climbing prayers some food is placed in every corner of the rice field as an offering or offerings, the rest we eat together.
so also before the harvest period farmers also perform the same rituals with a view as a sign of gratitude for the abundant harvest.
over time tradition or custom began to erode a handful of farmers who still perform this ritual. when it's all part of the cultural richness.
