Are you mining Kaspa? Want to earn more with the same setup?

in #kaspalast month

Or I could rephrase the question, Do you want to earn another coin while mining Kaspa that is listed and has the potential to go boom like Kaspa? Let me introduce you to the Canxium’s Cross-Chain Mining.

What is Canxium’s Cross-Chain Mining?

Canxium uses a unique system RdPoW that allows miners to mine Kaspa and simultaneously get CAU (native coin of Canxium) as a reward using the same computational resources. Through this, miners can secure rewards from both networks without additional hardware or energy costs.

Does it cost you extra power consumption?

No, it doesn’t cost you extra power consumption as it differs from regular merge mining. In traditional merge mining, you are utilizing your computational power on two chains and getting rewards for them. But in Canxium’s Cross-Chain mining, you are just using your power on one chain i.e. Kaspa, and Canxium recognizes it and rewards you with extra CAU.

What is Canxium?

Canxium is a reliable blockchain that creates a sustainable, efficient, and miner-friendly ecosystem. Canxium network is designed with unique features, including a dynamic supply model, stable mining costs, and advanced consensus protocols such as Proof of Demand (PoD), Proof of Stake (PoS), Retained Proof of Work (RdPoW), and offline mining.

How does it work?

The cross-mining process between Canxium and Kaspa works like this:

Adding Canxium Address: Kaspa mining pools add a Canxium-compatible address to the coinbase transaction. This address will receive Canxium rewards.

Mining Kaspa Blocks: Miners keep mining Kaspa blocks as usual, solving puzzles to secure the Kaspa blockchain.

Submitting to Canxium: After mining a Kaspa block, the pool sends the block details (header, coinbase transaction, and pruned Merkle tree) to Canxium via a special transaction.

Validating and Rewarding: Canxium validators check the Kaspa block’s proof of work. If valid, they calculate the reward (Base Reward × Kaspa PoW Difficulty) and send it to the Canxium address in the coinbase transaction.

In short, miners mine Kaspa blocks, submit proof to Canxium, and get rewarded in CAU tokens.

Does any Kaspa pool support Canxium Cross-Chain Mining?

The names of the supported mining pools will be announced soon, once final confirmations from the pools are received. Stay tuned for updates!

Is it beneficial for Kaspa?

Yes as Kaspa is a Proof-of-Work (PoW) blockchain and is set to fully distribute its KAS supply by 2037. After that, there will be no more KAS block rewards for miners except transaction fees. However, due to Canxium’s cross-mining mechanism, Kaspa miners can continue to earn rewards even beyond 2037. This approach contributes to Kaspa’s long-term security.
