in #kabul7 years ago

On the night of this Saturday, January 20, fourteen foreigners were killed by a Taliban commando that entered the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul, barricading itself for about twelve hours. Among the deceased are two Venezuelan citizens.

The Venezuelans were identified as Adelsis Ramos and Pablo Chiossone, both pilots of the private Afghan airline that operates in the capital.

Luis Figuera says that his brother-in-law, Adelsis Ramos was killed along with Pablo Chiossone. Both men worked for the Afghan airline KAM.

Figuera said that the bodies of Ramos, a veteran of the Venezuelan airline Aeropostal, and Chiossone were identified by another Venezuelan pilot at a hospital in Kabul.

It was learned that the bodies will be repaired through the embassy in Istanbul. The Venezuelan authorities have not yet commented on the case.

The attack has been attributed to the Taliban through a statement in which they say that their fighters "carefully" identified their victims and killed citizens of the "invading" countries and members of the Afghan government
