RE: Basic HTML for making a post
This article thus explains a lot about HTML and has been very helpful. And I am a curious cat new to steemit hoping to know my way around here. I would love if you can enlighten me more on the difference between Markdown and HTML. Thanks for sharing such a great article @bashadow
There really is very little difference between HTML and Markdown, they are both ways to style text on the web. With Markdown you control the display of the document; formatting words as bold or italic, adding images, and creating lists are just a few of the things we can do with Markdown. Mostly, Markdown is just regular text with a few non-alphabetic characters thrown in, like # or *. With HTML the code is placed between angle brackets< >. You can mix and match some HTML and some Markdown, but you can get strange results sometimes by doing that, but then again, you can get strange results using just HTML or Markdown. So you always want to look at the preview box see how your post is looking before hitting the post button.
Thanks @bashadow so helpful. just needed that clarification........ was so confused at first when i had strange results using just Markdown. Good to know i can also look at the preview box to see how my post is looking before hitting the post button.
